UNAUTHORISED DRONE ACTIVITY FORCES THREE FLIGHTS TO RETURN TO THE UK
Three flights travelling from the UK to Jersey were diverted on Friday evening, October 30, after unauthorised drone activity was reported near one of Jersey Airportβs runways.
The affected flights included a Loganair service from Southampton, a British Airways flight from London Heathrow, and an easyJet service from London Gatwick.
The disruption prevented the aircraft from landing as scheduled. The easyJet flight eventually reached Jersey shortly before midnight after the airport extended its operating hours to accommodate passengers.
Reports of drone activity began around 8:20 p.m., with further incidents recorded until approximately 10:30 p.m.
Jersey Police are now searching for witnesses and anyone who may have information about the drone operators. Officers are particularly interested in sightings near St Peter, La Pulente, Watersplash, El Tico, L'Etacq, and Jubilee Hill.
Anyone with dashcam footage, CCTV recordings, or information about suspicious activity is being urged to contact police.
