🌹✨ Happy Saint George's Day! ✨🌹

Today, we celebrate SAINT GEORGE , the legendary patron saint of courage, honour, and protection. Known for slaying a dragon (symbolising the triumph of good over evil), Saint George's Day is a time to honour his legacy of bravery and selflessness. This day is celebrated by Christian churches, countries, regions, and cities where he is the patron saint, such as England, Ethiopia, Georgia, Catalonia, Aragon, Palestine, and many many more. Wherever you may be, this day is a reminder to stand up for what’s right and embrace the spirit of chivalry .

So, here’s to celebrating his story and the communities that continue to honour his memory!
(My dad was named Georges, so... here's to you, Dad! 🥂❤️ )

BUT... that's not all we celebrate today...
Today we also celebrate "The Bard", who was allegedly born on this day in 1564, but definitely dying on it (according to Wikipedia) in 1616 at the young age of 52—I am of course talking about none other than the great WILLIAM SHAKESPEARE , who left us with more quotes than we can quote in a lifetime.

To everyone... 🌹✨ Happy Shakespeare Day! ✨🌹

England's national poet, aka the "Bard of Avon", profoundly shaped theatre, literature, and even the English language, expanding how characters, plots, and inner thoughts could be expressed, especially through mechanisms like soliloquies . His influence reached countless writers, from Charles Dickens to William Faulkner, as well as composers, artists, and filmmakers worldwide, 'till this very day! He helped standardise and enrich the English language with new words and phrases still used today, such as "eyeball", "bedroom", "swagger", and "lonely", plus expressions like "break the ice", "wild-goose chase", and "a foregone conclusion". His works have been translated into over 80 languages and adapted across cultures. He is widely regarded as the most influential playwright in history, and his legacy continues to shape global storytelling and artistic expression.

Who knows if he was born on this day? Let's toast to the Bard of Avon anyway! 🥂
