María Dueñas - Paganini: 24 Caprices, No. 9 in E Major "La Chasse"
Following her acclaimed DG debut album Beethoven and Beyond, the Spanish violinist María Dueñas has chosen to play Nicolò Paganini’s iconic 24 Caprices for her upcoming second album. She couples the pieces, which are known as one of the hardest works that have ever been written for violin, with a selection of later works inspired by Paganini, presenting music by composers ranging from Berlioz and Kreisler to Gabriela Ortiz.

Following her acclaimed DG debut album Beethoven and Beyond , the Spanish violinist María Dueñas explores the Caprice. Besides Paganini's famous 24 Caprices, she also explores Caprices by other composers including, as in this piece, Saint-Saëns for which she teamed up with the Deutsches Symphonie-Orchester Berlin and conductor Mihhail Gerts. Further composers range from Berlioz and Kreisler to Sarasate, Wieniawski, as well as Jordi Cervelló and Gabriela Ortiz.
