Chopin: Waltz No. 1 "Grande valse brillante" - Lang Lang - Berlin Gala Concert
Lang Lang performs Chopin's Waltz No. 1 "Grande valse brillante" in E flat major, op. 18 (1831) together with Staatskapelle Berlin under the baton of Manfred Honeck as an encore at the DG120 Celebration Gala at Berlin Philharmonie in November 2018.
Chopin: Prelude in D-flat Major, Op. 28: No. 15 “Raindrop” | Lang Lang
Chopin took inspiration for the “Raindrop” following a waking dream at the keyboard at a monastery in Majorca. According to George Sand, who interrupted the composer’s reverie when she returned to the monastery during a rainstorm, the composer saw himself drowned in a lake, while heavy drops of water fell in a regular rhythm on his chest.
