Cherish Every Moment
Since the year started, I've lost three friends. Last week I buried my aunt, and this Saturday it will be my one friend. The sad part is that I couldn't attend the other two funerals because of my aunt's funeral.
At least I will be able to say my final goodbye on Saturday and incidentally it will be at the church I will be joining - maybe that's a sign of connection in this new chapter of my life.
We all know death is certain, though we never know the time or day. and yet it still comes as a shock when it happens. This morning I was in tears - not just because I never got to see my friend before she passed, but because it hit me how short life really is. She wasn't an elderly person or a child, she was my age. And that realization struck deep.
If anything, this is a reminder to cherish the people in our lives while we can. To say what we need to say, to appreciate the time we have because tomorrow is never promised.
Tell your loved ones you care. Reach out. Make time. Because in the end, moments and memories are all we have.
