WHY am I being asked if I, as an #XRP holder, have I taken the #FLARE #Airdrop .

Yes, this is almost certainly a scam if you are being asked about this in 2025/2026 .
While a legitimate airdrop of Flare (FLR) tokens to XRP holders occurred in January 2023 , the window for claiming it was based on a snapshot taken on December 12, 2020 , with the final claim deadline being in 2021.

Scammers use this historic event to target new or unsuspecting XRP holders on Facebook, Telegram, and X (Twitter) to steal their assets.

Why They Ask (The Scam Mechanics)

Scammers use the "Flare Airdrop" to lure you into a phishing trap. Here is how it works:

The Setup:

They see you own XRP, and they know about the historic, legitimate 2020 airdrop.
The Hook: They tell you that you can "claim" free FLR tokens, or that you missed the first part and need to connect your wallet now.

The Trap:

They send you to a fake website (e.g., flare-networkxrp[.]com or similar) and ask you to connect your wallet (MetaMask, Xumm, etc.) or, even worse, enter your seed phrase/private key .

The Theft:
Once you connect or enter your phrase, a "drainer" bot automatically steals all your XRP and other assets in the wallet.

Key Red Flags

Urgency:
They use fake countdown timers or claim you must act fast.
Private Keys: NEVER enter your 12-24 word seed phrase on any website.

"Free" Money:

If someone approaches you offering "free" tokens, it is a scam.
Misspelled Links: The official website is flare.network . Anything else is likely a fake.
What to Do

Do not engage:

Ignore these messages and do not click any links.

Report & Block:

Report the user for spam/scam and block them.

Verify on Official Channels:

Only check for information on the official Flare Network Twitter/X account or website.
The 2020 snapshot is long gone, and there are no ongoing free airdrops for new XRP holders.
