Long before the UN declared May 21, tea producing countries across Asia and Africa began observing International Tea Day on December 15 - A day rooted in solidarity, not just celebration.
Countries like India, Malaysia, Sri Lanka, Bangladesh, Tanzania, Malawi, Uganda, Nepal, Vietnam, Kenya and other's came together in 2005 to spotlight the people who grow, pick and produce the tea we so often take for granted.

Pakistan, while not a major producer, is one of the world's biggest lea-lovers, with chai deeply woven into everyday life and hospitality.
As someone who proudly owns a Tea-Badge on Tangled, I'm raising my cup to the journey from leaf to cup, to fair wages and to all the lives touched by this humble yet powerful brew.
