Lot's Cave was where I got my initial start, and while it was a one-man operation, Phaedrus managed things very well until his health began failing which of course began to affect his ability to operate. He wasn't a friend, but we did exchange emails, and I learned a lot from his, and always valued his advice.
However, Lot's Cave is gone now. With Phaedrus's death, there's some unresolvable problems such as the shattering of the Royalty-Settlement chain. As best I have been able to determine, there's just no way things can be repaired and re-established as account access died with Phaedrus.
So...for me and other authors who published through Lot's Cave, now it's time to rebuild.
For me it's also been a time of re-evaluation and one I am not rushing through as it's a chance to apply lessons learned through past mistakes. Deviantart is where I will re-release and launch new works from. They're big, extremely functional, offer a lot of function and features, as well as being easy to work with.
I will miss Lot's Cave, and I will especially miss Phaedrus. However, life must go on and I know he would heartily approve as he was not the kind to give up when facing hurdles, obstacles and such as evidenced by building a quite successful one-man Publishing business. So, onward and busy-busy-busy.
