Kissing in Public
I first saw these birds in our school only last Monday. They have a distinct beautiful flute-like sound that goes "pee-yaaooww"!
My first photos of them were taken when I was in the library and I saw at least three of them on a mango tree behind the building. I heard their beautiful calls so I opened the windows and looked for them. But they were too far for my camera phone, even for a 10x digital zoom.
In the afternoon, I heard their calls again in front of the building. I went up to the third floor and took some shots. This is a zoomed in and enhanced version.
I learned that these are black naped orioles or locally known as Tulihao or Antiluhao. And why are they doing this? I learned that February is the start of their breeding season.
