The festival I have chosen is Eid ul-Azha, which is celebrated with great enthusiasm by Muslims all over the world, especially in Pakistan. It is a religious festival that marks in the start of the holy month of Zul haj People wear new clothes, attend special prayers at mosques, sacrifice animals, and enjoy delicious traditional foods with family and friends.
Significance:
Eid ul-Azha symbolizes gratitue to Allah .All Muslim sacrifice their animals and distribute the meat in the poor
Historical Background:
The roots of Eid ul-Fitr go back to the time of the Prophet Ibrahim, who introduced this festival by trying to sacrifice his son according to the dream that he has watched but it was just a test . Allah sent the sheep at the place of his son. Its encourage charity, brotherhood, and joy among Muslims.
Date:
It is celebrated on the 10 of zulhaj the last month in Islamic lunar calendar. The exact date changes every year based on the sighting of the moon.
