Most people misread this quote "Success is not final, failure is not fatal: it is the courage to continue that counts." (Winston Churchill).
They think Churchill meant โstay positive.โ But the harder message is this: neither your wins nor your losses define you only what you do next does.
That promotion you got? Doesn't matter tomorrow, and that failure that gutted you last year? Also doesn't matter, unless you let it stop you. Success makes you comfortable, and Failure makes you quit.
Both are traps. the only thing that actually separates people isn't talent or luck it's who keeps showing up after getting knocked down.
Stop grading yourself on outcomes. Start grading yourself on whether you continued.
