Over the next few weeks, I made it a point to visit them regularly, listening to their fears, tears, and concerns without judgment. I helped with errands, cooked meals, and offered a shoulder to cry on. It was a small act of compassion, but it made a world of difference.
To me, compassion is about being human. It's about feeling someone else's pain and doing something about it. It's about being present, kind, and non-judgmental.
In my daily life, I try to practice compassion in small ways. I listen actively, put myself in others' shoes, and show kindness wherever I can. I volunteer, help friends and family, and remind myself to be gentle with myself too.
Compassion has taught me that even in the darkest moments, there's always hope. And that by being there for each other, we can make a difference, one small act of kindness at a time.
