Does anyone else regret not being better at building relationships when they were younger?
Back in high school in New Zealand, there was a girl who always sat next to me during homeroom before classes started. When we first met, she kindly asked me my name, and I still remember how warm and sweet she was. I’ve always been pretty awkward with relationships and social situations, so even when we had the same class afterward, we would usually walk to the classroom separately. She was the type of person who could naturally keep conversations going with everyone in the group without making anyone feel left out. There were four of us, and even when the other two were already close, she always knew how to include everyone at just the right moment. I’m 27 now, and sometimes I still think about how I could’ve done better as a friend to her. Maybe I could’ve opened up more or talked to her more instead of staying quiet all the time. She was genuinely such a kind person, and I still think about her sometimes.
I still regret that I couldn’t be better to the people who welcomed me, and I still have a hard time building relationships with people even now. #relationships source
