I read a comment today that made me realize this won’t work. How should I have done it differently?
The squares are an inch thick rosewood and black limba. The boarder is solid rosewood and two inches thick.
I was reading a comment in another thread about a butcher block and they pointed out that a boarder like this will fail over time as the wood moves. They recommended cutting off the boarder.
So that leads to this question: if I am building a chess end table and need a boarder frame, how should I construct it so that it won’t crack as the wood moves?
