Graphic Designer looking for career advice. Moving to the UK in December.
Hi everyone,
I'm moving to the UK this December and I'm hoping to build my career as a graphic designer there.
I have a Bachelor's degree in Design and around 3 years of professional experience working in graphic design, including branding, social media design, marketing creatives, and digital design.
I'm trying to make myself as competitive as possible before I move. I'd love to know:
* What certifications or courses are actually valued by UK employers?
* Are there any AI design tools or certifications that would improve my chances of getting hired?
* Are there specific skills that companies are currently looking for in graphic designers?
* Would you recommend learning UX/UI, motion graphics, brand design, web design, or something else?
* Any advice on building a portfolio that appeals to UK agencies or in-house design teams?
I'm willing to invest time in certifications if they'll genuinely improve my employability.
I'd really appreciate any advice from designers or hiring managers in the UK.
