đđ World Elder Abuse Awareness Day â June 15
Today, I join the global effort to raise awareness about elder abuse and the importance of treating older people with dignity, respect, and care.
Q1- What is one way we can show more respect, care, and support to elderly people in our daily lives?
One meaningful way is to spend quality time with them, listen to their stories, and make them feel valued. Many elderly people experience loneliness, and simple acts of kindness and attention can make a big difference in their lives.
Q2- Have you ever learned an important life lesson from an elder? What was it?
Yes. An elder in my family taught me that patience and honesty are more valuable than quick success. Their advice helped me understand that good character and consistency lead to lasting achievements.
Q3- What signs of elder abuse or neglect do you think people should pay more attention to in society?
People should pay attention to signs such as unexplained injuries, poor hygiene, sudden withdrawal from social activities, fear of certain caregivers, malnutrition, and financial exploitation. Recognizing these warning signs early can help protect vulnerable older adults.
Let's work together to create a society where every elderly person feels safe, respected, and cared for. đ
