All of the major wildfire outbreaks are occurring near large lakes in Canada. Lakes of course are suitable for AI data centers.
If you look at this interactive map, you'll see that the location of most of the large concentration of wildfires are occurring near large lakes, not in areas with a lot of rivers and no bodies of water. The question has to be asked: are these the result of just global warming and summer heat waves, or are they intentionally being created to make space for large AI data centers? There has been a lot of pushback lately from citizens and groups in the US against data centers being built in their state and in their communities due to the large amount of land they take up, the noise pollution, the amount of water they consume and the waste water they generate. Then there's the reliance on fossil fuel power plants needed to keep the facilities operational, which add additional strain to the system. Since Canada is filled with many lakes, some very large, these areas would be more beneficial to build around for the US to compete with China.
