I'm planning a trip to Caucasus, but Garmin doesn't have satellite coverage for this region
Hello,
I apologize in advance if some of my questions are silly or anything like that; I'm completely new to this.
I'm planning a 3-month hiking trip in the Caucasus (Armenia, Georgia) starting in mid-June. Due to the lack of reliable paper maps for Armenia, I reluctantly have to buy a hiking GPS for this part of the trip.
I've seen that some Garmin devices, particularly the InReach Mini 2, are highly recommended. However, after visiting the Garmin website, I saw that their satellite coverage doesn't include the Caucasus. My question is, can the GPS/offline map functionality still work there, or is satellite coverage absolutely necessary?
Also, if it turns out that using a Garmin proves impossible, do you know of any reliable alternatives that would provide satellite coverage?
