Peru Itinerary Feedback

Going to Peru for our first time. As always I like to post our itinerary here to get some feedback from people who have been there regarding pacing.

Thanks in advance.

Day 1

\- Arrive in Cusco 11am from longer flight. Bus / shuttle to Ollantaytambo

\- Mostly just chill in Ollantaytambo to adjust to altitude

Day 2

\- Explore sacred valley

\- Overnight in Ollantaytambo

Day 3

\- Explore sacred valley

\- Train to Aguas Calientes and overnight there

Day 4

\- Macchu Picchu

\- Train back to Cusco and overnight there

Day 5

\- Cusco city day (adjust to elevation)

\- Overnight Cusco

Day 6

\- Rainbow mountain day

\- Overnight Cusco

Day 7

\- Fly to Lima

\- Explore Lima / city day

Day 8

\- Palomino Islands Sea Lion Swim

Day 9

\- Depart

Does this itinerary look good? It is a lot of traveling so wanted to see if that order of things is good. I tried to generally go up in elevation so that I could adjust to rainbow mountain near the end.

Other advice I am looking for input on

\- Is it worth staying in Urubamba instead of Ollantaytambo?

\- We usually travel with a single suitcase each. Is it a hassle to get around places with a checked suitcase / is a carry on recommended if we can squeeze it?

\- For those with asthma, is rainbow mountain doable with this much acclimation? Or would I be better off looking into an alternative day trip

\- Any recommended tour companies for sacred valley, rainbow mountain, or palomino islands?
