K-12 is the last time you get to feel a part of a community and the last time life feels like it’s happening around you, instead of manufactured.

Since a bunch of people who don’t know each other are forced into the same building everyday, drama is bound to happen. People make bonds, enemies, friends, etc. Shit is always happening. It’s like one insulated community. Even if you have a falling-out, your still forced to see them everyday.

Adult life is mostly quiet. You can have friends, a partner, sure. But once those relationships sour, they jut disappear out of your life. And you aren’t near enough anybody else for you to witness their lives and drama either.

I don’t know. It’s more peaceful, sure. But it’s certainly more boring and more artificial. I miss how spontaneous it was. Shit just randomly happens around you. You didn’t need to plan and create every little goddamn thing. Life felt more natural.

I was comparing it to tribe or village structures. Stuck with the same people everyday, lives are intertwined enough for interaction to feel natural, etc.

I just miss feeling like I was a “member” of an insulated community. Not like I was a separate traveler occasionally going into town for supplies. I miss feeling like a part of a community.
