looking for lesbian show recs!
hii! me and my girlfriend are woefully at a loss for any lesbian shows that interest us... we've looked everywhere but nothing seems to exist that isnt sanitized, doesn't kill them off immediately, or isnt about a man.
here are some things we're looking for in a show:
- men are NOT the main focus (i.e. no shows with a male lead and female side characters)
- nothing riverdale-esque (this is very vibes based, so if you dont get what I mean feel free to ignore. lol.)
- the female characters sexualities do not NEED to be explicit or a direct part of the plot, but their dynamic and interactions should leave room for interpretation
- nothing too sanitized OR filmed from the perspective of male attraction to lesbians
if you need a reference point, we both LOVED madeline and claudia from the 2022 adaptation of interview with the vampire, but (SPOILER) >!they only get like, one episode before they both get killed off.!<
we were also interested in black sails, and might continue it, but the lesbians in that show are firmly side characters.
if anyone has some recommendations, it would be greatly appreciated!! we're dying out here without something to fixate on !!!
