Searching for input on areas in KY/TN for a homestead

Hi! Posting to hopefully get some helpful input. My husband and I are looking to move to a rural/remote area and purchase 75+ acres. We’ve checked out and researched a few places online but you can only find so much information. We are currently looking in McCreary county Kentucky, and Scott county Tennessee. Does anyone have any experience/input on these places? TIA!
