Has anyone noticed how dumb people are becoming now
I mean I'm no super smart person myself but it feels like our average is past's stupid. I don't think iq tests are good indicator of intelligence either. I'm just ranting because the sheer dumbness I'm experiencing around me I wonder if people don't think at all now like wow this idea or this thing doesn't make sense.
On social media , real life even in academia etc it feels like people are no longer using logic. They seem to follow experts "opinion" as facts, not do any research, say totally stupid things with so much confidence, and gaslight or call others name when they don't conform.
For example during covid we saw how many experts were bought for. I work in academia and my colleagues usually hope on new trends to stay relevant, sadly academia is lost. Anyways, people need to stop idiotically believing every definitions, redefinitions, opinions, even some so called scientific research and use critical thinking.
Example : covid, my truth (hate this line), thinking big pharma is good,, not knowing basic definitions, listening to media like it's facts, the research (research about lobotomies were wrong, about false memory syndrome was mostly perpetuated by abusers themselves)
People need to stop to reconsider what if they're saying makes sense but it seems like with more time passing that self awareness is decreasing to self analyze, it's sad because corporations love dumb people (not in a offensive way) , easier to feed narratives to etc.
I remember how being a conspiracy theorist was made into a joke, not many people are laughing now.
I'm not saying dumb as an insult we all are dumb to some extent but I mean lacking awareness to realize where. The mind is what they wanna corrupt so badly (social media, unnecessary issues, slop, meds etc) don't let it get corrupted. Reject stupidity
