I was let go in January after six years with my organization, and it completely caught me off guard. Three years ago, I got permission to move to another state and worked remotely. Then, suddenly, they decided my role needed to be based back in their state with no prior warning.
I did receive a severance package (more than initially offered, but still not ideal), and I’m currently dealing with a complicated unemployment situation that I’d rather keep vague in this post.
We moved to a new home in mid-February, which was physically and mentally exhausting. The move was planned several months ago.
I know I need to find a new job, but I feel completely stuck. I’ve only sent out a few resumes so far.
I’m struggling with:
* no motivation * fear I won’t find something else * lack of trust in future employers after being blindsided * just feeling frozen overall
I know what I *should* be doing, but I can’t seem to get myself moving.
Has anyone been through something similar? How did you get out of this rut and start making progress again? TIA. #inspiration source
