Ajax aware of Eintracht Frankfurt interest in Steur, more clubs with interest
Ajax is aware of the international interest in Sean Steur. Besides Eintracht Frankfurt, other clubs are interested in the seventeen-year-old midfielder from the Amsterdam club. Ajax is in talks with Steur to extend his contract and is hopeful for a positive outcome, VoetbalPrimeur reports.
It's been known for some time that Eintracht is interested in the Ajax youth star. On Monday evening, Florian Plettenberg reported on Sky Sport that the Germans have opened talks with Steur and/or Ajax. The club is reportedly aiming for a summer transfer.
Eintracht's interest is nothing new for Ajax, which itself hopes for Steur's longer stay. The playmaker's current contract runs until mid-2028, but if the Amsterdam club has its way, the contract will be reopened and extended. The record champions are hopeful for a positive outcome from these talks.
Steur is making his big breakthrough at Ajax. The right-footed player started against Qarabag, Feyenoord, and NEC and made a strong impression in those matches. Steur has been playing for the record champions since 2016, having signed him from RKAV Volendam.
