Garmin trail data
I’ve tried many apps for hiking in the wilderness, and all of them seem to have different trail data.
AllTrails is nice for heavily trafficked areas, but for areas of forests where not many people go, it seems to be lacking. The best I could find was an app called Topo maps on iOS. Incredible trail data, works without sim/network coverage (as long as you download before hand).
But I’m also trying to de•tech my life. And having a phone is contrary to that goal.
I’m relearning how to topo•map, but think having a garmin intouch could help in case I get in over my head. I’m sure the gps and map stuff functions perfectly on the garmin, but my question is: how is the trail data?
Does it show most of the trails that people have tried to explore?
And if anyone has experience, how is the battery life etc?
You can’t download maps or trail info from in the field can you?
