Just got hired for roofer apprentice!!
I just got hired at a flat roofing company that mainly works on big plazas and commercial buildings (not house shingles).
I’m 20 and this is my first construction job, so I’m curious what to expect.
For people who work in flat roofing:
• Is the job extremely hard physically?
• How dangerous is it compared to other construction trades?
• Is the pay worth the workload/risk?
• How long did it take you to get comfortable and work on your own?
• What are the biggest risks on the job (burns, falls, chemicals, etc.)?
• Any tips for a beginner to make the first few weeks easier?
