Triggered my sawstop while unplugged
I was adjusting the brake spacing after swapping out for my dado stack. \*\*The saw was turned off and unplugged\*\*. My adjustment mechanism was stuck so I tapped the set screw with my mallet and a piece of scrap wood (\*gently\* — I use the word “tapped” intentionally). Bang, it stuck into the blade.
I’m really frustrated, didn’t even think this was a possibility. Could have removed the cartridge beforehand but didn’t even consider it since I wasn’t really doing anything unusual (and obviously that was the part I was adjusting).
Wanted to put this out so other people would be warned. And now I’m out $140 for a new brake.
