Roadtrip from San Fran to Redwoods — is Highway 1 worth the views?
My husband and I are roadtripping from San Francisco up to the Redwoods and onto the Oregon/Washington coast for our anniversary. I was assuming we were going to see the coast on our way up to the Redwoods but just realized it adds around 3 hours to our drive if we take highway 1 all the way up to Crescent City (our first stop). Is the California coast/Highway 1 worth the extra time since we will see so much coastline the rest of the trip? I’ve never taken highway 1. Neither of us have seen the Northern California coast but we’re also excited to get to the Redwoods. Would love any advice on whether it’s worth it or if there’s particular stops to add on to see along the way up! Thanks!
