I need some resources on bullying in kindergarten 🥲
My 5 year old is incredibly social and has a nice group of friends from daycare. It probably sounds biased as her mom but she is *so* kind. She learned sign language just to make sure a nonverbal friend could still be included at the playground. She can’t watch Disney movies because the villains are too mean. Now we’re in public kindergarten with a bigger class, and there are other girls seeing these traits as a weakness and making fun of her every day. We’ve talked about what it means to be a good friend, and sticking up for yourself. We’ve talked about telling the teacher. But I need some ideas on how to help her build confidence and setting boundaries, because she cried this morning before school saying “it’s okay, I like it when they call me those names.” 😭
I don’t want to jump to talking to the other parent yet. This is a lifelong skill we need to start now, but I’m overwhelmed with how to approach it since our conversations haven’t helped so far. #relationships source
