For those who hated music theory, what made you love it?
I've started and stopped music theory more often than I can count. It just doesn't click with my mind (which doesn't make sense because I think of myself as analytical) and I get really frustrated. I know music theory will take my practice to the next level and I would be able to get into improvisation, jazz, and composing like I've wanted to do for the last 20 years. However it just doesn't make sense to me. I've tried taking a local community college class and tried to self teach, but it doesn't stick, which makes me get frustrated and quit.
If you previously hated music theory, what made it click for you? What tools or resources did you use? #music #audio source
