Great one from a group usually known as BassDrumBone: Mark Helias, Gerry Hemingway, and Ray Anderson -- but this time Anderson is presented as leader.
Rare case of steel pan in jazz (it came to mind because a friend played Johnny Dyani's Blame it on the Boers, which is the only other album I can think that has it as anything but a gag.

I’m having issues with arpeggios
I’m playing this piece that has two octave 16th triplet arpeggios. Although it is in lento, and I can play arpeggios well legato when it’s slow, it’s still super tense and uneven when I play them. How can I change my technique so I can play them?

J. Cole’s verse on Johnny P’s Caddy might bar for bar be the greatest verse in the history of hip hop!
I don’t think J. Cole is the best rapper of all time, but I’m hard pressed to find a verse that was better from start to finish that showcased as much skill and ability. Prove me wrong.

Jazz Red Hot and Cool
Just started listening to this album of the Brubeck quartet, but not the classic quartet…which I maybe should have known because of the year. Live album which is nice and the cover, which went along with some ad campaign I learned for makeup the idea being if you wore the makeup you could get guys like Brubeck and Desmond…
