I’m literally incapable of even responding to a text
I’m an autistic 22 year old that hasn’t had any friends since age 11. So I’ve never really texted before. I’ve probably sent less than 100 messages on whatsapp, SMS, messenger etc in my entire life. One of my uncles texted me for the first time to ask how I’m doing after my Mother died 9 months ago. I didn’t respond and a few days later he deleted the message
I feel bad I definitely come across as rude and unappreciative. But I literally froze up and had no idea what to send. It’s not just because of the nature of the message even when my Dad and my mum previously sent messages. I didn’t know how to respond unless it’s a yes or no answer or something else just as easy. I’m bad at literally all aspects of all socialising but for some reason my texting is significantly worse.
