Looking for a walkable, social U.S. city for a 4-5 night solo trip in late September
I’m planning a 4-5 night solo trip from Philadelphia in late September and have been looking at New Orleans, Nashville, Chicago, Scottsdale and San Diego.
I’ve already done Vegas, NYC, Miami/South Beach and Fort Lauderdale, so I’m trying to find somewhere different.
What I’m mostly looking for is a lively, social city with good restaurants, bars and nightlife. I’d strongly prefer somewhere walkable, or at least a place where most things are a short Uber ride away.
I’ve traveled solo before and I’m comfortable going out alone. I just want somewhere that has some energy and where it’s fairly natural to talk to people. I’m single, so a good singles scene is definitely a plus.
I’d also rather be somewhere that skews younger than somewhere with a retirement/resort type crowd. Live music is a plus, although I’m not much of a country music person.
New Orleans probably interests me the most right now, with Nashville also on the list, but I’m definitely not narrowed down to those two.
For anyone who has done these cities solo, which one did you enjoy the most? And is there another U.S. city that fits what I’m looking for better?
