Heat styling hair is HARDER than maintaining your natural hair

I'm a curly girl, i find it upsetting that most girls DO have curly or wavy hair and so many of them choose to straighten it every week (or more) under the excuse that it's "easier to maintain"

IMO, applying heat to your hair takes a lot more time, energy and if not that it takes a HUGE emotional toll. The reason natural hair is so "frizzy" and hard to style COULD be because of the heat damage itself.

At the end of the day looking after your natural hair, means you won't be putting hours in the future trying to recover heat damaged hair.

ETA: I do NOT mean this against people who have no idea they indeed have curly/wavy hair. I mention i have curly hair because straightening curly hair is infinitely harder than "straight" hair, im not claiming to be an expert. Literally just my opinion.

I use to think i had really damaged straight hair, when it reality it was just curly hair that was not being looked after. I hit the straightener like every week, it WAS easier from my perspective because styling my HEAT DAMAGED hair without heat was a lot harder. Now it is recovered, straightening seems like such a chore compared to looking after natural hair. I know this is my experience, I know hair texture differs but maybe its hard to style your hair naturally exactly because you are applying heat so frequently. the answer to unkempt hair should never be heat because that only exacerbates the issue and encourages other people to apply heat on what couldve been amazing waves/curls.
