If the Princess and the frog released in the Disney Renaissance era, it would be just as remembered and beloved as the films from that era . Unfortunately due to it being released over a decade later, it didn't get the love it deserved.
It's actually a great movie that hits all the marks that made Disney Renaissance era films so great.
Outstanding hand draen/2d animation
Great main characters
Great supporting cast
Outstanding plot
Amazing music
If it had been released in the Disney Renaissance era alongside Mulan, the Little Mermaid, Lion King... ext. It would be just as remembered and talked about as they were.
Unfortunately it released at a time after Disney had already started moving audiences away from hand drawn animation, and it really didnt get the kind of push that it would have needed to reach that level. It was released nearly a decade after all the Disney Renaissance films had released and became cultural phenomena.
