SEA to DEN round trip - safety questions
Hi all,
I am planning a trip in a few months from Seattle to Denver, where I'll stay for about a week before driving back to Seattle. I would like to do this in 2 days. I have seen some different recommendations on routes to take. I am fine with any route and even with taking a different route in each direction. However, I am a young woman and will be taking the trip alone, so my main concern is safety along the route. Are there places I should avoid driving through or avoid stopping at along the way? Are there any women or other safety conscious folks who have taken this trip and have some tips and experience? I plan to only drive during the day but of course unexpected things can happen so I may end up driving later into the evening/night. I will stay at a hotel/motel for the night.
Another note, I happen to currently be shopping for a new (used) car and am looking for an older (2000-2010) manual SUV or wagon with 20mpg or higher. Does anyone have recommendations or positive experience with cars that fit these specs?
