Still love going to comic shops but I hardly buy anything there
Anyone else this way? I grew up going to the local comic shop and still feel drawn to it. I like the experience and it gives me some dopamine. But comics these days are very pricey. I have other responsibilities, kids, etc. I use Hoopla and marvel app for a lot of my reading, and a used bookstore that carries graphic novels because it’s cheaper.
So I still read a lot of comics, but it’s very rare that I buy floppies (even those I buy often secondhand on Facebook marketplace form other people trying to sell them and look for bulk discounts).
Anyways, all this to say, I love comic shops but I feel a bit guilty contributing to their downfall potentially by getting my books elsewhere. Any one else feel this way?
