Carving initials on trees isn’t romantic or cute and people who do it should be shunned.
Not only is it harmful to the trees themselves it’s also so incredibly tacky. Tourists constantly destroy tree and bamboo forests by thinking it’s cute/romantic or a good photo opportunity to carve shit onto the tree or the bamboo stock and it is incredibly tacky and anyone who does it should be shamed and if someone does it for you, you should shame them. It’s 2026 there are better ways to memorialize love.
