For me, I would question the procedure, especially if a platform was blocked immediately without giving it a proper chance to respond or without the proper legal process. Government agencies have the responsibility to protect people online, but they also have to follow the law and respect due process. A ban is a serious action, so there should be clear legal authority, proper notice, and a fair process before taking such a step. I think they could possibly ask for damages, but it would depend on Philippine law and the actual circumstances. They would need to show that the government action was unlawful and that they suffered actual losses because of it. A one-day ban alone does not automatically mean they would win a damages claim. For me, the bigger lesson here is that both the government and online platforms have responsibilities. The government needs to enforce the law properly, while platforms should also follow reasonable legal requirements in the countries where they operate. At the end of the day, rules should be enforced fairly and through the proper process.
