The Backup Bride — She was supposed to marry someone else. Instead, she married her brother's best friend | Contemporary Romance
She was supposed to marry someone else on Saturday.
By Monday, she was married to her brother's best friend.
Mara Bennett never planned on becoming Cole Mercer's wife.
Cole is the quarterback for the Dallas Kings.
Her brother's best friend.
And the man who's been quietly in love with her for eleven years.
When Mara's original wedding falls apart, Cole becomes the last man she should turn to—and somehow the one standing beside her when a marriage of convenience starts looking like the perfect solution.
There are rules.
There are boundaries.
And there is absolutely no reason for Mara to suspect that her convenient new husband has wanted her for more than a decade.
Except pretending to be married gets complicated when the man you're supposed to be pretending with doesn't have to pretend at all.
THE BACKUP BRIDE is a contemporary sports romance featuring:
• Marriage of convenience
• Brother's best friend
• NFL quarterback
• Secret pining
• He's loved her for years
• Forced proximity
• Slow-burn tension
• A marriage that starts as an arrangement and becomes something neither of them planned
