Is this the worst time to be alive?
We often look at the past through rose-colored glasses, imagining it was simpler, kinder, and more stable. But history shows otherwise. People have always struggled, the world has always had chaos, and life has never promised fairness. The truth is, it’s never been “easy,” and it never will be. That’s not meant to discourage you, it’s meant to prepare you. Because while the world stays unpredictable, you can become unshakable.
You didn’t choose the era you were born into, but you can choose how you live in it. You don’t control the actions of leaders, the economy, or global events, but you do influence how you respond, how you lead in your own life, and how you show up for others. That influence is your true power.
Control is an illusion. Influence is real. You can’t stop storms from coming, but you can choose whether you stand, bend, or break. You can’t eliminate the hardship in the world, but you can decide to rise above it, to be a source of good within it, and to protect your own energy from being drained by what you cannot change.
This means shifting your focus from what happens to who you become because of it. Every challenge is an opportunity to strengthen your character, sharpen your mind, and live aligned with your values. The world’s chaos doesn’t dictate your peace unless you hand it over.
So, stop waiting for the world to get easier. It won’t. Instead, become tougher, calmer, and more intentional. Influence what you can; your thoughts, your energy, your actions—and let the rest pass without stealing your joy.
