Is it normal to just have nothing to say?

I notice that the people around me are getting more and more annoyed that I have less and less to say in conversations.

I don’t do small talk. I don’t care what you did in your weekend. I don’t care about sports. I don’t care about reality TV slop. That immediately removes 90% of conversations.

My friends now just complain about work and can spend up ti 15 MINUTES monologuing NON STOP about their work grievances. I am texting this post in the middle of a call with one of these friends and they DON’T care that I am not listening. I am glad they don’t ask afterwards because I CANNOT keep this web of people they are talking about in my head. I cannot memorize or even pay attention. If someone is talking at me more than 5 minutes, I forget what they said in the beginning. I don’t absorb information like this. I need text for that. I never complain about my work because whenever something bad happens there, it's almost always my fault.

I have my interests but I don’t want to bore people with them or be judged by them. And my interests are getting narrower. Movies and games are getting worse. My attention span makes me bounce around between videos and reading. I dread anyone asking me what I did this weekend because I am sick of responding “Not much”.

The only conversations I want to have are useful information (skills, discussing values, heavy topics) or emotional support. Am I supposed to wade through hours of shit and nonsense to get this? Am I supposed to live and entire life and do interesting things simply for the sake of OTHER PEOPLE? At my job at least people pay me. What do I get for that, more people talking about nothing?
