Introducing a 8 week old hen to an existing flock?
Due to some sad circumstances only one of our new hens made it, however now she is 8 weeks old and we want to introduce her to the existing flock (5 hens and 1 roo). What is the standard procedure for this? I assume they will just adopt her, but I am worried about the roo,
Right now the 8 week old is in an old dog kennel and they are all around her eating sunflower seeds. Can I just let her out to be with them and she will follow them around and into the coop? What do people normally do in this situation?
To be clear, shes been brooding in our garage for the last 8 weeks. Today is her first day outside.
