Does anyone have any experience with "blacking out" during social encounters?

This is a difficult one to explain because I *feel* it more than I can rationalize it, but I don't know what is typical between people.

I (36m) almost never talk to people outside of variations of, "understood," that I mutter while receiving orders at work. Which means I get way too excited in the *extremely* rare banal social occasions I attend during the year with family. For context, I've never had friends beyond people I got through school with and this behavior was rampant back then.

What I mean to describe is the sensation of talking to a person I'd like to be social with (especially in a group setting) and then, like a werewolf, vanishing from my conscious brain and control of my own body. It were as though I come to on the way home, completely unsure of what I said or did during that encounter.

I know from what people have told me that during that time I am extremely animated and ramble uncontrollably. My partner is much the same and we've come up with a system to combat each other's behavior. If one of us is able to regain enough awareness to notice the other is talking complete nonsense at a near shout, we give a pinch or nudge to try to bring each other back down to earth. It is... not very successful.

What I ask to you is for any tips or anecdotes on this kind of behavior and how you might've controlled it. Decades of accidentally shouting and ranting has ruined my reputation with a lot of people but I feel out of control no matter how much I try to prep for something as simple as a family dinner. It doesn't seem like a clinical problem, but I feel like I need help being present in interactions.
