Merrell Moab 3 - goretex vs regular?
Hey, I have a week long trip to the dolomites coming up in early October and have started looking for hiking shoes.
I’ve spent 3 days doing research into what is a complete minefield and landed on the Merrell Moab 3 low.
My question is though - idk whether to get the goretex or not. I hear lots of people talking about how they’re not breathable and if they get wet they stay wet but equally I’m going to be at 2000m elevation at times which may be really quite cold and wet and maybe the goretex is more useful there?
Also saw people say that non waterproof with waterproof socks could be a good option.
We’re doing lots of day hikes and one night hike.
I’d love some feedback and opinions if possible on the best thing to go for as opinion seems to be really split and conflicting across the board.
