Beautiful day hike in Montana. Mount Blackmore is 10,154 feet (3,094 meters), and around a 3,600 foot (1,097 meter) climb to the top.
It’s part of the Gallatin range south of Bozeman, Montana. Accessible through Hyalite Canyon.
About a 13 mile round trip, the first 4 or so miles are manageable, but towards the summit the trail disappears under a couple feet of snow in several places. Very rewarding views of the Gallatin range and the Gallatin valley at the top.
