Snipe on a drum sander

I have a Jet 16/32 non-oscillating drum sander. I bought it used maybe 18 months ago and have used it regularly since then with no issues. Over the last couple weeks, it has started sniping the first 2-3". I basically understand snipe on a planer, but I'm not sure why it is occurring suddenly on the drum sander. I would appreciate any advice or suggestions to help me figure this out.

Sudden snipe after a year and a half of clean passes is the part that matters. A Jet 16/32 doesn't just start chewing the first 2-3 inches for no reason. On these, entry snipe usually means the board isn't staying flat against the conveyor as it meets the drum, or the drum and table have drifted out of parallel. Conveyor belt tension, a belt that's stretched or glazed, and whether the drum is still even across the width are the first things I'd check. Did this start right after a belt swap or a move, or did it creep in over those couple of weeks?
