This fir veneer door is peeling in a few places from water exposure. I want to patch and paint it. Here's my plan. Poke holes in it, please.
1. Sand/rough up the poly with sandpaper and liquid sandpaper for the curvy/bevels
2. Fill dings/scratches with durhams rockhard. Spot prime and sand.
3. Prime entire door with INSL-X Stix Waterborne Acrylic (spray)
4. Topcoat Benjamin Moore Command Satin
One challenge is there is some jagged poly build up in the corners of the panel recesses. Can I use some citristrip to remove? There's no way I can sand this and a putty knife doesn't work.
The other challenge is the veneer is loose in one spot. I was going to cut it out with a utility knife and fill with rockhard
