I’m getting annoyed with a friend who only wants to talk about what she’s interested in and doesnt care about what I say or want to talk about
I have a friend who ever since I moved across the country has been being weird with me when it comes to conversations. She will ask how I am and I tell her and all she says is that’s cool and then move on quickly to talk about herself. And she will go on and on about whatever she wants to talk about but when I talk about myself or what I’m interested in I get ignored, one worded answers or very vague answers and then she just moves on and talks about what she wants to talk about. Yesterday she asked how I was doing and I told her I’m having a rough day and she says I’m sorry and then just moves on to talk about a reality show and I just went quiet and she’s like what are you doing??!
I then told her later I needed to go because I was going to have dinner with my boyfriend and she did not respect my boundary of needing to leave and insisted I stay in the phone with her while I eat and pressuring me to not hang up. I finally acted like I lost something out the phone in the other room while I talked to my boyfriend and she hung up but I’m starting to get upset. I think I’m going to confront her about my feelings but if she does t respect my answer or continues to do this I’m ready to call it quits. I’m 27 and tired of weird friends I’ve had to end so many friendships in the last few years due to the friendship not being reciprocated.
